R-ABC spells Efficacy in Skincare.

R-ABC stands for three active ingredients plus a manufacturing technique. Put them together and you have an innovative way of formulating products to support healthy skin.

R stands for Retinaldehyde. The most potent form of off-prescription Vitamin A, it is known for its ability to improve skin texture and complexion. You may already be familiar with Retinol – think of Retinaldhyde as its gentler but stronger cousin.

A stands for Astaxanthin. Derived from red algae, it’s a potent antioxidant that helps support optimum skin health by quenching the free radicals that can cause cellular damage.

B stands for Bakuchiol. This is a natural, plant-derived substance that delivers benefits similar to Vitamin A in regulating collagen production. Because Bakuchiol is chemically distinct from retinoids it’s free of their common side effects, such as skin sensitivity.

The final letter stands for Cold, as in cold processing. The usual way of blending active substances into a shelf-stable cream or lotion relies on the manufacturer heating them up and adding emulsifying agents. This process makes the ingredients less potent, so you need more of them.

By contrast, Ao relies on an innovative cold processing technique that blends the formulation at a low temperature, and thus avoids the need for emulsifiers.

On top of that, cold processing is friendlier on the environment

“…conventional methods for processing such emulsions require significant quantities of energy and time; it has been estimated that heating and cooling alone accounts for over 90% of the total energy cost for the production of an emulsion. With the current market focus on eco-friendly materials and processes, cold process emulsion technologies have gained popularity, reducing both the energy demand and manufacturing time required.”

R-ABC. It’s the simple formula for better skincare, and it’s unique to Ao.
