How Peptides Support Optimum Skin Health
Returning skin to its native state of health sometimes involves a little repair work. A repair project requires the right building materials, and peptides have been identified as the building blocks of protein – in particular, collagen – within your skin. So we can see there’s an important role to play for these naturally occurring substances.
Different peptides have different parts to play. Copper peptide GHK-Cu has been shown to assist with anti-aging, firming and anti-wrinkle activities. sH-Oligopeptide-1 increases the rate of skin healing and renewal, as well as slowing down the thinning that occurs as skin ages. Acetyl-Octapeptide-3 can help hydrate and smooth the appearance of your skin.
What they all have in common is that they’re small, and thus able to penetrate the skin’s layers and get to where they’re needed. Peptides are also nutrient-rich, which ensures your skin is better able to maintain its integrity.
It’s analogous to feeding your digestive system with a varied diet rich in the organic substances your body needs, rather than relying on the quick fix of highly refined junk food. Over time you’ll be better able to maintain good health without expensive interventions. For this reason we use selected peptides in our PM Treatment.
Research is ongoing, and we’ll be keeping a keen eye on it. In the meantime, it’s beyond doubt that peptides can support your skin’s health by rejuvenating from within.
The results showed that application of the collagen-like peptide on the skin significantly reduced the total surface of wrinkles and this effect was observed in 75% of the replicas. Similarly, the decrease in number and average depth of wrinkles was also significant and was observed in 65% and 75% of the replicas, respectively. The effect of the collagen-like peptide on reducing the total and average length of wrinkles was also remarkable.
