I am 57 years old, and I’m continuously looking for skin care products that are pure and less drying to my skin. For the last 15 years, I have truly spent a lot of time trying to take better care of my skin. Since having clean skin is the beginning of beautiful skin, using a good cleanser is important to me.

When I was asked by TIA to review the Ao Skincare Prepare Cleanser, I was hoping for a good match. I don’t care for foaming cleansers with lots of surfactants, as they have proven to make my skin too dry. I looked into the ingredients in this product and was quite amazed with this clean cleanser. There are no parabens, sulfates, mineral oils or any other nasties.

Instead, it has loads of wonderful things for your skin like niacinamide. I have read a bit about this ingredient and found that it is effective in treating some of the skin conditions I have, such as rosacea, occasional blemishes, sun damage and, of course, fine lines and wrinkles. There are many other good ones, too, including manuka honey for its antimicrobial properties and plant stem cells to help boost collagen.

The bottle is a sleek and modern airless pump. I use two small pumps each time I wash my face. The product comes out as a gel and, when mixed with water, it turns into a milk-like substance. I then rinse it off with water and pat dry. When I first tried the cleanser, I thought it wouldn’t work well for my skin type because the gel seemed a bit oily, but the oil dissipates after mixing with water.

While I don’t wear much makeup, it rinses away effortlessly and my face is left super soft. I don’t even use any creams at night, because my skin feels so moisturized. Also, I have not experienced any breakouts. I’m very happy with how my skin looks and feels afterwards. After one month of twice daily use, I think there is still quite a bit left in the bottle, so I think it is well worth the price. This cleanser will definitely be in my little bag of tricks for a long time.
